Window Mirrors

Here is something that I've been playing around fro a while. The first one is something that I am trying to market. Shadow boxes. I call it a window to your past. When a door closes a window of opportunity opens. Sofar I haven't sold any but a lot of people like my ideal. The 2nd and last came from a estate sale. they were doors to a china hutch. They are made of walnut I beleave. All the frames are from 50 to 100 years old.

My latest project

A couple of months ago we went to an estate sale where I picked up some rough cut cedar boards. I didn't know what I was goint to make out of them. They sat on the shop floor till I was inspired. Well I made this bench. The top is the cedar. I planed the top but left the sides the their natural state. You can see the worm holes where the worms craled between the bark and wood. The legs are made from red oak which was given to me a couple of years ago. The wedges in the leg tops holding the seat on are made from walnut which my son gave me for Christmas. I've been spending a lot of time in the shop latley. Its a good place to be on cold winter days.

What use to be the blue bath is now the white and black bath and it is finished!!!

Update on my retirment

Friday I received my retirment orders. Its kind of a sad day knowing that my time in theuard is numbered. I guess its time to tie this barge up that I've been sailing on the River of Denile.
